How To Use Silk Hair Curlers on Natural Hair?
Silk hair curlers are trending on TikTok after the airing of S2 EP 3 of Euphoria, where character Cassie Howard (played by actor Sydney Sweeney) used the curlers in her 4am beauty routine. The ‘wow’ factor of this tool is that it’s one long foam tube covered in satin fabric that you can curl your entire head of hair with. The results that people get from using this tool is amazing. This post will help you get great curls every time.
What Products Do You Need?
You will need the following products to achieve this look:
- Silk curl headband scrunchie set is the curler that will be used to create the heatless curls of your dreams.
- Mousse will be used to hold and set the curls created with the curler.
How To Use Silk Curlers on Natural Hair?
Step 1: Cleanse Your Hair
Use a sulfate free shampoo to cleanse your scalp. This step will ensure that you have a great base for your silk press.
Step 2: Deep Condition Your Hair
Before using hot tools on your hair, you should always use a deep conditioning treatment because it helps prevent hair damage that may occur.
You can choose to use a protein or moisturizing deep conditioning treatment. You can determine the treatment based on the current state of your hair. Protein treatments help your hair become stronger and more resistant to heat damage. Moisturizing treatments help protect your hair from breakage and reduce frizz.
Once you choose your deep conditioner, leave the product in your hair for 30 minutes before you rinse it out with cool water.
Step 3: Apply A Heat Protectant
Applying heat protectant is a step that you cannot skip if you want to avoid heat damage. Heat protectants help prevent heat damage.
Step 4: Blow Out Your Hair

Step 5: Apply a curl activator.
Divide your hair down the middle to create two large sections of hair. Then add hair mousse to each section of your hair.
Step 6: Apply the curlers to your hair.
- Place the curler at the center of your head. Secure the curler in place with a jaw clip.
- Twirl one section of your hair around the length of the foam curler as you would with a flexi rod.
- Repeat steps 1-2 (listed above) for both sections of your hair.
Note: You can use flexirods to curl any stray hairs that did not make it into the curler.
