Hey bestie, it’s your Internet BFF, Kaylannk here! Let’s talk oilplaning.

Are you in pursuit of glowy skin? Do you want a smooth foundation application? I’m sure you said yes, just like me. And the very few people with glowy, smooth, glass skin have been recommending oilplaning. They are crediting oilplaning to their smooth skin. So what is oilplaning?

Oilplaning is dermaplaning with a twist. Dermanling is when you shave your face dry with a single blade razor. This method exfoliates dead skin cells by removing peach fuzz and the tip layer of skin. It also reveals a smoother and brighter complexion. Oilplaning is a similar method as dermaplaning. The difference between the two methods is that you apply a layer of oil before shaving when oilplaning.

(I recommend you consult a dermatologist before trying skincare trends from online. Oilplaning is not recommended for people experiencing acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, irritated skin, or a skin infection).

How To Oilplan Your Face At Home?

  • Step 1: Cleanse your face and dry it thoroughly.
  • Step 2: Apply face oil to your skin. Choose a face oil that uses squalene, hydrochloric acid, vitamin E or any other moisturizing benefits.
  • Step 3: Hold your skin taught and glide the single blade slowly across your face at an angle.
  • Step 4: Wash your face with a mild cleanser.
