The doll created in her likeness has mini Senegalese twists with purple highlights. The doll is dressed in a navy blue dress decorated with white crescent moons and stars. The doll features a telescope as an accessory. The telescope accessory is a reference to her work with designing revolutionary space instruments like the James Webb Telescope.
Who Is Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocok?
Dr. Margaret (Maggie) Aderin-Pocok is a British space scientist and science educator. She is best known for being a co-presenter of BBC One’s The Sky at Night, and CBeebies Stargazing. She has helped design revolutionary space instruments. Space instruments she has worked on include the James Webb Space Telescope, Gemini Observatory telescopes, and European Space Agency satellites. She continues to work on space research projects. She recently became the chancellor at the University of Leicester, a UK University known for space research.
