The interface of the tour is a split view screen with the Google Earth interface on the left side of the screen and the historical information curated by the Schomburg Center and Howard University on the right side of the screen.

The tour allows you to navigate the United States through Black historical events using the Google Earth interface. This means you have all of the functionalities of Google Earth, but with a twist. The purpose of the tour is to show you how Black history has shaped the American experience. Historical events and people are categorized into the following themes: advocacy, business, dance, film, and technology.
